Apple iPhone Plus Concept

Posted by Steven on 17 May 2012 / 0 Comment

There’s a bunch of ideas floating around the web as to what the new iPhone will look and work like. I’ve seen the posts, liked some, disliked others, but I haven’t liked one  enough to post it on here until now.  Remember when I posted about the Instagram Socialmatic Camera last week? Well, the same concept creator, Antonio De Rosa, dived into creating his version of the iPhone 5. He calls it the iPhone plus, seriously an attention grabbing name.

Not only is the name super cool, but the features he has added onto his version of the iPhone would have me waiting in line for this (which I haven’t done yet…and probably never will…unless this comes true).

• Liquidmetal Body: thermoformed on a single plane, no junctions needed
• Screen with double alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass
• 4.3″ Retina Display with In-Cell technology
• A6 Quad Core processor
• Rear Camera: 10.0 Megapixel, f/2.4, 1080p Full HD video at 30 frame/s
• Front Camera: 2.0 Megapixel (VGA), 480p VGA video at 30 frame/s
• Rear motion sensor
• Top pico-projector to beam photos and videos on any surfaces (the picture above gives you a good view of what this might look like)
• Slim design for an edge-to-edge thinner profile
• New slim-dock connector
• Fully Capacitive Home Button

What do you think of ADR’s concept for the iPhone? Would you wait in line for it opening day? Or just wait ’til it becomes cheaper?

tumblr’s Storyboard

I love tumblr. For those of you that don’t know – These Old Colors was actually started on tumblr in 2010, but eventually migrated to WordPress a year later. I still have a heart for tumblr though, because of it’s easy inspiration and the community. It’s weird to say that tumblr is a community, but it’s true…it really is. To add to the community, tumblr has added a new branch to it’s empire called Storyboard.

“Storyboard is a regular collection of features highlighting talented creators and their work, as found within and around the massively diverse Tumblr community.”

I’m really loving the execution of this idea, because when you visit or follow a person’s tumblr you don’t know much about them, just that you might have the same interests or like some of their pictures. Storyboard gives you insight into some bloggers and the inner workings of tumblr.

Read the existing articles then give it a follow. While you’re over there…head on over to the ToC tumblr and leave us some love.

i am OTHER

It seems that celebrities are heading into the business direction. A year ago it was Jay-Z, yesterday it was Adrian Grenier…today it’s music producer, entrepreneur, and 1/3rd of N.E.R.D., Pharrel Williams. He’s started his first media group known as i am OTHER. All that’s known about it is that it’s described as “a content-driven property that spotlights new musicians, filmmakers, designers, artists and innovators through online, mobile and retail channels, TV shows and films.” Sounds pretty cool to me. I love finding out about new creatives through video – I dont know what fuels me after watching one, but usually I’m on a inspiration high after watching a feature video of a new artist.

Check out the JJ Abrams flare inspired business trailer…

SHFT

SHFT is a multi-media platform founded by film producer Peter Glatzer and actor-filmmaker Adrian Grenier, most famous for his portrayal of Vincent Chase on HBO’s Entourage. They’re mission “is to convey a more sustainable approach to the way we live through video, design, art and culture.”

From the creators:
“It takes a lot to make a movement on the quotidian level.  As filmmakers who are concerned with climate change, we felt that we could bring something creative to express the changes we wanted to see and were, gratefully, starting to observe.  We feel that video, art and design are powerful and inspiring ways to convey this narrative.  That SHFT was our particular tool to tell this story.

We also embrace the idea that consumers have the power to make change.  Businesses respond to the demand of their customers.  SHFT celebrates the burgeoning sustainable marketplace where great design and innovation meet.  We vote with our dollars and can have a powerful impact when we do.

Finally, we wanted to explore the idea that “environmentalism” as a movement, as a separate category, has become anathema.  Sustainability should be folded into the fabric of our lives, a part of our consciousness that touches everything we do.  It should be reflected in our culture, our art, our music and design, and nudge us further towards the sustainable direction in which we’re inevitably headed.”

I’ve been looking through SHFT for a bit now, and have been impressed. I’m not really the one to go “green,” but I do like the message and the idea behind the site. What I really enjoy is the SHFT TV section where they have a bunch of self-produced videos dedicated to featuring people who are making the world a better place from building gardens in cities to starting “clean powered bowling alleys.”

I also think it’s cool that these famous guys are taking time to actually get something done with their given ability to be recognized. Using their resources and pulling together a “web-zine” that they feel passionate for deserves respect.

Check out the site and let me know what you think of “going green” in the comment section…

A Day In The Life

Posted by Steven on 15 May 2012 / 0 Comment

Lately entertainment providers like Netflix and Hulu have been making their own original content for their subscribers. Netflix has Lillyhammer, which I watched a bit of and was interested (but not interested to watch the entire first episode). And Hulu is definitely the leading expert in original content as far as the two contenders go. They already have Battleground, a series about political campaigning filmed in documentary style a.k.a. “The Office” style, but the series that I just found out about was A Day In The Life.

Executive Produced and created by Morgan Spurlock, of Super Size Me Fame, A Day In The Life is just that…a day in the life of someone who is respected or celebrated as a musician, comedian, businessman, chef, actor, the list goes on.

Watch the trailer for season 2…

I’ve been really enjoying the show because of the people they choose to follow. It seems like they’re careful on who they decide to feature on the show…because first off…you have to pick someone that has an interesting day – most days – and it has to be interesting to the viewer. Questlove was the first one I watched, and it was interesting to see him in his apartment and have a busy day complete with rehearsals and djing, and really end up getting like 4-5 hours of sleep a night. After that I was hooked. I watched Richard Branson fly from London to Chicago and greet people / get interviewed non stop / etc… I watched will.I.am help out a district in Paris right before heading to do a sold out show in Stade De France.

I’m not sure if it’s the appeal of watching the upper class enjoy their lives of luxury and constant exposure, or actually seeing that they’re doing something with their lives that were given to them by fame. Maybe it’s just the curiosity of the happenings of a celebrity’s life. Whatever the appeal for me is…I’m gonna spend a little more time today watching more episodes of this. Between you and me…I’m interested to watch the Joel McHale one. Who doesn’t want to see a day in the life of Jeff Winger?

UNIQLO WAKE UP App

Japanese based clothing company, UNIQLO, has unleashed a new app on the iPhone / Android market called WAKE UP. If you hate the sound of your alarm in the morning, which I don’t know who doesn’t, this app might be for you. Instead of an annoying buzz or tone…it wakes up with a nice calming piano song (made by Cornelius) that changes to the weather. And it also has a soothing voice that makes you feel like you are being awoken very gently. Watch the video to get a sense of what it is….

I’ve woken up to this 2 days in a row…and I have to say…it starts my day off right. Who knew just a little difference like changing your alarm could make? If you are a heavy sleeper…I might recommend not using this…because it is so gentle you might just keep dreaming along.

Really loving the style of Need Supply Co.‘s new lookbook of clothes they’ll be selling for Spring 2012. It has the vintage ivy feel of a Wes Anderson movie, even with some Bill Murray comedy thrown into the mix. The fashion they’re showing off is top notch…a little on the spendy side for poor college students…but still top notch none-the-less.

Need Supply Co. is a boutique in Richmond, Virginia that likes to “incorporate the culture and style of the city into [their] mix and attitude.”

Instagram Socialmatic Concept Camera

Antonio De Rosa has created the Instagram Socialmatic Camera. Unfortunately only a concept, but the idea behind it is fantastic. If you’re as addicted to Instagram as me and Rick are…then this might interest you too.

Many people have wondered what Instagram might do with their newly acquired billion dollars from Facebook, and this is Antonio’s idea…the first Instagram photo camera. It’s a very iPhone inspired design…I can already see that they both would look really good together. Here are some of the features the Socialmatic would hold:

• 16 GB mass storage
• Wifi and Bluetooth
• 4:3 touchscreen
• 2 main lenses: first for capture, second for 3D filters, webcam applications and QR Code capturing
• Optical zoom
• LED Flash
• Internal printer to make your Instagram photos real
• Paper cartridge with Instagram Paper Sheets
• Dedicated 4 colors ink tanks
• InstaOS 1.0, the operating system built by Facebook and Instagram

I really like the idea behind this. Only thing I could see to make it better would be to incorporate other photo apps, because people aren’t just using Instagram to put filters on their pictures they use way more apps to get the image they want. It would be cool to have it be a social / photo camera. The first of it’s kind.

MeWithoutYou | Ten Stories

MeWithoutYou has finally released their new album “Ten Stories” on Spotify, their first album since the 2009 release “It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All A Dream! Its Alright.” It’s fun to listen to MeWithoutYou as they want to be with no restrictions and how they want the songs to be. No offense to Tooth & Nail, but sometimes a record label can force you in a direction that you don’t want to go…for the better or worse. “Ten Stories” is the MeWithoutYou we’ve always wanted. I’ve already posted about their first single from the new album “February, 1878” the first track of the album…and now we get to listen to the following tracks in it’s entirety.

For me…this album has gone to back to one of my favorite MWY album’s – “Brother Sister.” Not to say the others are bad…but for me the lyrics and music seem to be closely similar to this new release, which is a good thing. A great thing in fact. I haven’t been able to dive deep into lyrics, I’m only on my second listen through the album…but I can say that I’m a continuing fan of MeWithoutYou. The music is is creative and imaginative…something MWY has never had a problem lacking.

God bless Spotify. God bless MeWithYou.

Film Review: The Avengers

Posted by Rick on 08 May 2012 / 1 Comment
Tweet

After seeing The Avengers on Friday, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to review it.  So many people are already raving about how good it is that I felt like a review that came out after the film claimed the top spot on the list of highest-domestic-opening-weekends ever, nudging out the last Harry Potter installment by a good $30 million, would just be too much.  I thought this, but then I went to see it again and couldn’t help myself.

I’m sure most of you reading this have already seen the film by now considering that The Avengers accounted for 80% of all ticket sales last weekend.  Those who haven’t, this review will be spoiler free, but make your plans to go see it as soon as you can.  The film needs no introduction, an all-star cast, 5 “prequel” films that have been leading up to this for the past 4 years, and an incredible writer/director all “assemble” to create, in my opinion, one of the best comic-book superhero films of all time.  There I said it.  Now I know some of you may be thinking “Whoa.  What about Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins? The Dark Knight? and The Dark Knight Rises (coming July 20)?”  Well, let me explain.

For me, The Avengers and The Dark Knight trilogy can’t even be put in the same genre.  The Avengers is much lighter in tone and much less serious while The Dark Knight is grounded in reality and considerably darker than any of the Marvel films.  One of my friends put it this way, “As a film, The Avengers is a comic-book.  The Dark Knight is a graphic novel.”  That sums it up quite nicely if you ask me.  You would never see an invading alien race, or an alien race of any kind in Nolan’s Batman series.

That said, The Avengers is every bit what fans want it to be.  I went in with high expectations (like I try not to do), and came out with those expectations having been left in the dust.  All of the concerns I had going into the film dissolved.  Problems a lot of people saw with making a film of this caliber, specifically with balancing the screen time of the individual heroes, disappeared.  Every character has their time and they utilize every second of it.  There are a few standouts, but you will undoubtedly leave the theater trying to remember every line of dialogue or scene that made you laugh.  Some of the characters may stick in your mind more than others, and Joss Whedon, the writer/director, gave The Hulk a life that 2 previous films, and 2 different actors couldn’t quite accomplish.

Brooklyn Nets Rebrand

Posted by Steven on 02 May 2012 / 2 Comments

Some of you might have heard that the New Jersey Nets are now becoming the Brooklyn Nets, thanks to part owner and Brooklyn born, Jay-Z. It’s a big move, seeing as the Nets moved out of New York in 1977, and are now moving the entire team back to the NY.

At first when I heard the news…I was for it. Brooklyn is an iconic city with amazing history, and I was excited for the design change. Most basketball team’s logos were made in the 90s, and all need a redo. Seriously. This needs to happen.

The new Brooklyn logo is getting a lot of attention from the internet lately. Not all good either.

Bobby from The Fox Is Black starts out his post about the redesign with this,
“If I described the logo to you, I could describe it in a really appealing manner. I could say that the Nets are the only team in the league who wear only black and white. That’s pretty cool. I could say the logo is simple, that it uses a tall, sans-serif font. That the shield used is meant to depict the signage of Brooklyn from 1957. All of that to me sounds really awesome, like the contemporary idea of what basketball branding should be.”

He’s right…sounds like it could be a design win for the Nets.

I have to chime in my opinion on this now, looking at the logo above doesn’t do anything for me. Apparently designed by Jay-Z himself, it almost looks like they got bored and slapped a B on a basketball and called it a day. B for Basketball or Brooklyn? That’s a confusing part of the logo. I’m not sure who this is supposed to appeal to…Brooklyn? Possibly. Hip Hop artists? Probably.

I can’t be all criticism about it though…I do like, however, the black and white and minimalistic design of it. It’s simple, and B&W are memorable colors for the basketball team.

Come on though…I thought we would have learned from Gap’s horrible rebrand.

What they should have done is just find several Brooklyn artists to come up with their own idea of the logo, and go from there. Seriously…I fixed their bad press problem in two seconds.

Watch the new commercial for the new stadium after the jump…CHECK IT!

There is no denying that this summer is going to be a summer of movies that won’t soon be forgotten.  Let’s just run down the list…The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus, The Amazing Spider-Man, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Battleship, Ted, Total Recall, Brave, The Bourne Legacy, and Looper.  That’s just off the top of my head.  Now as I’ve said many times before, a trailer can make or break a film, and music selection can make or break the trailer.

If you’ve followed These Old Colors for a while, you may remember a post similar to this last year, highlighting the songs behind the trailers of popular summer movies.  I’ve included 10 songs, some you may recognize, and some you may not.  Check out the tracklist, complete with embeds of each song and a downloadable .zip file after the break.  (more…)

JackThreads | Goodale

Posted by Steven on 27 Apr 2012 / 0 Comment

If you haven’t noticed…I’m all about men’s style. I owe to that Kyle…for making me want to dress right and the power of actually putting a little bit of hold in your hair – a little bit goes a long way. I think a guy should dress as he wants to be perceived. If you want to be seen as a grunge hippy, by all means – go ahead, but if you want to be respected by strangers and  taken seriously at a business pitch…you’re gonna need to throw away your old closet and start adding some new pieces.

I’ve been trying to do this for the last several months, wearing button ups instead of a t-shirt to go outside, putting on nice pants instead of paint covered holey jeans, grabbing a little bit of gel and slipping it into my hair before walking out to start the day. I don’t dress the best by any means…I just like to feel comfortable and confident…and honestly know that I look good. Sounds egotistical…I know…but that’s what we all want when we walk out the door.

One way I’ve found to help in my quest to dress better is JackThreads.

JackThreads is an exclusive member-only club that has amazing apparel at an extremely low rate. Started by Jason Ross out of his house in 2008, JackThreads has become a standing stone in men’s fashion and apparel for the last couple of years, doubling their membership and selling more clothes then ever.

I’m not rich…so the clothes that I actually want to buy are way out of my budget – so I discount shop. JackThreads has cheap prices…in my price range…where I can actually afford to dress nice. There’s really no excuse not to buy a couple things off the site.

They just released their first private label, Goodale, only for member’s of JT. Here are a few pieces that are on sale right now on the store for only one more day.

I’m in love with the whole collection and with the price too.

The bummer of some of the items they sell on the site is that there is a small window of oppurtunity to buy, because most of the sales last 48-72 hours. I know it’s tough when buying clothes on the internet, because you don’t know exactly what you’re getting, so it takes time to wrestle with the idea to buy or not buy. Not every men’s-wear company can be like the Trunk Club.

I say – if you’re wavering on a decision…go with what the cute barista girl would want.

Super stoked about this self titled debut from Irish electronic dub-duo, Young Wonder. This release has definitely made it’s way into my top 10 for this week maybe even the month. Why? Well just listen to their first single “Orange” and try not to enjoy your surroundings. It’s impossible. The almost-dubstep dirty bass sound puts out the groove that will almost knock you down. The dreamy vocals recorded by Rachel Koeman, over a steady groove laid down by producer, Ian Ring, is almost intoxicating. Check out the entire ep below, plus a couple remixes at the end.

House On Fire Island

Posted by Steven on 24 Apr 2012 / 0 Comment

A beach house in New York? Sign me up. The house designed by Studio 27 Architecture, aptly named and located-on Fire Island, is a refreshing look at established studios making buildings that are new and innovative. Read a highlight from the architects below.

From the architects:
“Fire Island is a summer beach house in the resort community of the Pines on Fire Island, New York. The typology of the homes in the Pines is recognizable to anyone who has visited an east coast shoreline resort town. It is a builder-driven typology that reflects the pragmatism of these coastal communities and their inhabitants. The “good sense” practicality that allows these homes to be built affordably almost always overtakes the inherent liveliness and natural spirit of the place and creates structures that are dull and predictable.

This house inserts some of the “spirit of the shore” into a “Yankee thriftiness” residential typology. Common detail and material remain, but the volume of the house is expressed as a skin rather than a box-like container. The skin keeps the heat in. Over time, woven cedar boards will assume the same patina as neighboring houses. Large windows are introduced to reveal a luxurious light interior.”

Aerobie Aeropress

Posted by Steven on 23 Apr 2012 / 2 Comments

I’m big into making my own drinks. I like to homebrew (and infuse beer). I like the idea of roasting your own coffee (even though I haven’t tried it yet). I like the idea of someone making their own wine. It’s almost a hipster thing to do…but the whole act of making it then impressing your friends with the simple sentence “Try it…I made it” seems too good to pass up.

Now even though I don’t roast my own coffee beans…I love all the different ways you can get a good cup of coffee in the comfort of your own home. Whether its with the  french press, a giant expensive machine, Keurig, or the simple Aeropress.

I got the Aeropress as a gift from my mom knowing that I was big into making my own drinks. I really didn’t know what it was at the time, I just thought it was another way of french pressing. After doing some research and making my first cup with the device – I found out I was right and wrong.

The Aeropress is the combination “of a French press and a vac pot, combined with the piston of a lever-operated espresso machine.”

I made my first cup today, and even though it was my first time using it – I was super impressed. I used Alaska Coffee Roastery‘s Arctic Wolf, which is a dark roast made 6 hours from my house. Personally – I prefer a bold taste, and a french press can do that if done right, but this made it so much easier with the taste I wanted. My coffee was ready within minutes; it was great and the cleanup was so simple as seen in the video above.

The only downside for me was that you have to have the exactly right filters to go with it. So if you plan on buying this…make sure you buy enough filters for your coffee addiction.

Price: $25.95

For the price – it’s a great way to make coffee.

Archipelago Cinema

Posted by Rick on 22 Apr 2012 / 0 Comment

This might be one of my new favorite things I’ve found on the internet.  A floating auditorium, loosely known as the Archipelago Cinema, was constructed for the first annual film festival, “Film on the Rocks Yao Noi,” on Kudu Island, Thailand.  The festival itself “aspires to become an alternative platform upon which different worlds converge in order to start a dialogue with not only each other, but also the environment, human and natural, with which it co-exists.”  They’ve definitely succeeded with that goal in their debut year.  The idea for the theater was based on the local rafts of the lobster fishermen. Here’s what architect Ole Scheeren has to say about the idea and location.

The thought of watching films here seemed surprising: A screen, nestled somewhere between the rocks. And the audience… floating. Hovering above the sea, somewhere in the middle of this incredible space of the lagoon, focused on the moving images across the water. A landscape of pieces playfully joined together. A sense of temporality, randomness. Almost like drift wood. Or maybe something more architectural. Modular pieces, loosely assembled, like a group of little islands. A congregation of rafts as an auditorium. Archipelago Cinema.

The screen itself was set a short distance away between two towering rocks and boats were used to ferry theater-goers across to their seats. After the festival was completed, the “theater” was dismantled and the rafts were given to the local fisherman.

This would be an incredible experience.  Watching a film surrounded by nothing but water and jungle is truly unique.  I would love to see something like this appear on lakes around the U.S.  As a regular attendee of movies, this is an experience I would gladly pay extra money for over “experiencing” a film in 3D.  What about you?  [via Amusing Planet]

I’ve included pictures of the design and construction after the break.

Dogfish Head Randall Jr. Beer Infuser

Dogfish Head is known for infusing their beer with interesting ingredients and making a name for themselves doing it. I first got introduced to them, probably the same way a lot of people did through their TV show on Discover called Brewmasters. This was the show that got me into home-brewing.

Now you can play Dogfish Head at home with the new Randall Jr., the personal beer infuser.

It’s simple to do. Put the ingredients you want to add to your certain brew in the Randall Jr. – Pour your beer over that – Chill it – then pour into a cup using the mesh strainer on top. It’s that easy.

This seems like a great thing for people to mess around with home brewing, and it’s cheap. Enough said. Also – it sounds pretty cool if you can say, “Oh yea, I infused this Stout with coffee beans.” 2L2Q.

Check out Dogfish Head’s infomercial for their new product…

Recently I have stumbled upon a site called Trunk Club. To say this site makes a lazy shopper’s life easier is an understatement. I found the site using one of my favorite pastimes and time wasters called StumbleUpon.com. Once you arrive at the website you are basically presented with a very modern looking men’s clothing website where you simply tell them what kind of clothes you are into and they send you a box within a couple days with about 6-10 pieces in it. I signed up immediately! They do ask for a credit card number to hold to make the purchasing process easier. You simply keep any of the pieces in the box when it arrives and send it back and they charge your card for what you keep. I very much enjoyed the process and selection they sent me so I thought I would do a pros and con list for people to see if this is something they would like to try.

Pro:

1. Very quick service

2. Very attractive

3. Every piece of clothing I received after filling out a short survey was a piece I would wear (they have their questions down to a science of what to send you)

Con:

1. On the more expensive side of the spectrum ($50-$200 pieces of clothing)

2. I wish I could come up with more to make it an even 3 and 3 on pros and cons, but they are a solid business.

Conclusion:

I suggest everyone at least try the Trunk Club once to just have the luxury of having a personal shopper that sends you exact clothes you would wear. Overall I am very happy with their customer service. I actually have a call with my personal representative to talk about how the clothes fit and what will be in my next trunk.

Converse: 3 Artists 1 Track

Intermittently, over the past few years, Converse has been releasing a free music download and music video that features 3 artists collaborating on 1 song.  This most recently came to my attention in the form of the song “Warrior” by Mark Foster of Foster the People, Kimbra and A-Trak.  The song alone is worth the price of admission (free if you’re wondering), but the video might be one of my favorite videos I’ve seen in recent years.  It features Mark Foster and A-Trak taking on an underground, Luchador wrestling racket to save the singer of the house band, Kimbra.  If you’re not watching it by now get to it!

Here also, is the link where you can download the song for free off of Journeys’ website.

Also for your listening/viewing pleasure, I’ve included the videos from all the past 3 Artists, 1 Track series that I could find.  Artists include Matt and Kim, Kid Cudi, Gorillaz, Andre 3000, Andrew WK, and LCD Soundsystem to name a few.  Check them out after the break.

Propellerhead’s Figure

Music software company, Propellerhead, creators of Reason, have released Figure, a musical creation iPhone app that’s simple and fast to use. They took a bunch of sounds and effects from their DAW Reason, and put them into iOS as a very user friendly musical experience. Make beats, record bass, lay down some melody then show your friends that you’re better then them.

“If you are new to music making, getting started making great sounding tracks has never been this easy — and sounded so great,” says Propellerhead. “If you are a seasoned musician – music creation has never been this fun!”

I’ve been playing with it for a little while now and have easily made two songs that  I was looking for a way to transfer to my computer, and that’s a little harder to do then you would think. Honestly…it would be a whole lot easier if you could save and export / import tracks that you already recorded on Figure, but for some reason (no pun intended) the app doesn’t let you do that. The only thing I could see that you could possibly do to save those tracks is record the audio straight from the headphone jack to your computer recording software. Kind of sucks…but if you really get something you like and want to flesh out…it might be worth it.

Overall though – the app is a lot of fun and might kill some time for you when you’re bored.

Price: 99¢

Ean Golden from DJ TechTools has a video where he reviews the app…check it out after the break…

MR PORTER | Sterling Work

Let’s be honest, guys. Whenever we watch Mad Men…a little part of us wants to be Don Draper. Or maybe a big part of you…depending on how much you like the show. I know I wouldn’t mind strolling around in his shoes for a day – especially living in the 60s. To celebrate the return of the new season – MR PORTER, the “men’s style destination,” with inspiration from the AMC hit show – took several photos worshipping the Mad Men style.

I love these pictures, which were shot on location at the London Hotel, and I also love the style. If only these suits were more affordable.

Flipboard

I am jumping on this bandwagon really late…but…better late than never.

Some of you might have heard about Flipboard for the iPad / iPhone / iTouch…The revolutionary app that transforms your social networks into your own personal magazine. Making it easier to view shared content from your Twitter or Facebook friends. Here’s a video by the ever popular Adam Lisagor on what Flipboard is…

For some reason unknown – I just downloaded this app on my iPhone (since I don’t have an iPad) – and I am loving it. The interface and design is so sleek and customer friendly that makes it hard not to enjoy. The motion of swiping your thumb up on the phone is fun and it’s a different way of using my iPhone, which I thought I’d never say; and the graphics are very fluid and load very fast. I’m impressed and I feel stupid for just now getting it. I wish they would come out with a desktop app for this too – and add RSS compatibility to it so Google Reader can have a good competitor.

Download it.
