“The Sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”
-Jacques Cousteau
Sea-tribes is an ongoing body of photographic work and a photo essay inspired by the ocean and marine layer… documenting the landscapes, waves, and lifestyles around various pods of eclectic surfers. It attempts to present a unique, albeit slightly nostalgic, perspective of modern surf culture. The photographs are shot entirely on film with the use of mostly 1930s-1980s era equipment. The colours are unique to the film processing technique (various slide films processed in C-41 chemicals and polaroid).
I want to hang out with this guy for a solid week.
