It seems every music video today is trying to be a short film in it’s own way. Which…really…is not a bad thing. You get more happy hipsters out there then without these lovable short films. Such is the case with Mika’s new “short film” for his new song Make You Happy.
I discovered Mika off of iTunes when I was searching for something to buy with my gift card. I usually search for albums longer then I do actually listening to the album that I end up buying, but Mika’s “The Boy Who Knew Too Much” was an anthem for the summer I bought it in. I’m excited for his new album after watching this video.
“Here’s the first song I wanted you to hear from my new record, “The Origin of Love.” This is not a single but a song I really love and wanted to share with you.
I commissioned a short film which I felt perfectly captured the sentiment of the track. The film was directed by Iouri Philippe Paillé and was made in Montreal. This is where the entire album started taking shape a year ago with Nick Littlemore at Planet Studios in Papineau.”
