Pilgramers

We all have ideas of how we want to document our travels – whether it’s through photographs, videos, polaroids, journals, whatever kind of medium you can think of – we want to share it in an interesting light. It’s the reason why social networks are so popular – the ever wanting need to share your life to your friends and distant friends…and friends you’ve only met once…maybe not at all. We’ve all caught the sharing bug, because even the people that don’t have a Facebook or Twitter anymore – made one in the past to share their life. It’s addicting. I’m addicted. Especially if I’m super jazzed for the outcome of whatever I’m releasing onto the world.

That’s why I’m stoked to share with you Pilgramers, a web show of Instagramers on a pilgramage across America.

The show takes the ever popular social photo sharing app, Instagram, and turns it into an oppurtunity to journey from state to state meeting other “instagramers” – and documenting that experience with not only photos, but a very well produced video.

Here’s the pilot episode to kick off the series with frontmen @jodyjohnston and @ryancarl leading the photo sharing revolution.

Click ahead to see the first episode of the series…

I think I’m a fan of Pilgramers, because it’s not just going to other photographers houses and interviewing them on the couch. They’re experiencing new adventures with new people…something we all want to do, but “don’t have the time to do.” It all gives a little glimpse into a life we all would love to have. The narration is another thing I like about these videos so far t0o. It reminds me of The Buried Life or World Of Jenks. Some people don’t like narration and say it take’s away from the visuals…but I say there’s never enough. The beginning of American Beauty? Come on…that was perfect.

Love how they got @Jeffcarl to do the music for this one and brother @StudioJohnny to do the music for the pilot. The music fits the footage so well.

Also thinking about everytime I mention someone on the blog here – I’ll mention their twitter / instagram name instead of their real name. 2 birds…1 stone.

Follow their adventures because they might be stopping at a city near you:
