Peter Jackson gives us another behind the scenes look at the making of The Hobbit. This one is more geared toward the equipment they used and how they’ve changed their filming since the last movies in using 48 RED Epic 5K cameras and two 3D cameras. Anybody interested in film should be geeking out right now…this is BTS gold.

[Jack Nicholson / Stanley Kubrick & Daughter on the set of The Shining]
It’s probably no secret – but I love getting a look at behind the scenes of movies. Being a movie buff and an aspiring filmmaker – I love to see the people behind the camera just as much as the people in front of it. I wore out the special features on the Lord Of The Rings extended discs, and watch every Making-Of featurette that I can. So maybe you can say that I’m obsessed ;).
I love these compiled images of “The Best Of” BTS’s pictures of older movies.

Check out a bunch more BTS pictures after the continuation….
I’m not an art connoisseur or anything, but this video intrigued me. Seeing a classic painting from arrival – where everybody is wanting to get a glimpse – to the actual hanging is pretty interesting. The whole conservator part reminded me of Malcom Gladwell’s intro for Blink. if you haven’t read that book…buy it…and love it.

And as there should be with all good music videos…or just videos in general…a behind the scenes look after the jump…
Mad Men is definitely one of my favorite shows on TV right now. Everything about it is wonderful. The set design, the clothes, cars, dialogue, research, etc.. that goes into making it more realistic is stunning. I mean…yes, I am a huge fan of the 60′s design so of course I would be in love with a show that fuses the two together, but really…it’s addicting. If you havent watched it yet…find season 1 online and start from the beginning. You won’t be disappointed.
Here are some stills taken by James Minchin III from the set of Mad Men.
